Gracie's Pool
Last weekend Matthew and I thought that we would go buy Gracie a pool seeing that her fear of pools has diminished this year. She had some money saved up so we thought that would be a good thing to spend it on. We found one of the large rectangular ones at dollar general for $15 and decided that was the one to get. It is about 8 feet by 5 feet and about 1 1/2 feet deep, so it is a pretty good size and we can sit in it with her.
Tuesday I decided that I would take Logan and Grace out in the pool, but I needed to get it out and ready. I didn't want Grace to know what I was doing so I snuck out the back door and pulled the pool into the front yard. I was in the process of topping it off with air when I saw Grace coming around the back of the house with her shoes on clutching her blankie saying, "it's my pool mamma!". I took Gracie back inside and told her that when mommy was finished we would go get in the pool. So, I went back outside to check to see how the pool was inflating. That was done, so I went back inside to check on the kids. Grace was running around the house naked saying, "where's my momo, where's my momo". "Momo" is her word for Nemo and Nemo is on her bathing suit, so that is what she was looking for. I went and got one of her little swimmer pull ups out and decided to go outside and get the water running so that would be ready when we went outside. In the middle of doing that I look up and Grace is trying to make her way down the stairs saying, "help me mamma, help me" She was still naked, but had tried to put her pull up on. She had both legs through one hole. I took her back inside and put her pull up on correctly and got her into her bathing suit. Boy, was she excited. I started to put Logan's bathing suit on and she started to squeal with excitement and started screaming, "Lolo in the pool!" The kids were ready, so now it was my turn. When Grace saw that I was puting my bathing suit on she got even more excited. "Mamma and Lolo in the pool!" she started screaming. I decided to put a t-shirt on over my bathing suit so I wouldn't scare the neighbours, when Grace saw me do this she started to get upset and started crying, "No, no mamma, the pool, Lolo and mamma in the pool"Anyways after all of this we finally got into the pool and had a pretty good time. Gracie splashed and played and Logan kicked the water. It was a pretty fun time.
